QuestionWhat forms of payment does Hertz accept?
Answer
As per Hertz policy, the booking MUST be made under the name of the renter (renter = main driver who picks the car up = guarantor with his/her own debit* or credit card), using a debit* or credit card in the renter's name. The same debit* or credit card MUST also be presented upon collection of the vehicle, as a guarantee. Hertz does NOT accept debit* or credit cards in a name other than the main driver's, even if accompanied by a "per procurement"/mandate document and personal documents of the debit or credit card holder.
*HERTZ do NOT accept debit cards in every country.

Debit/prepaid Cards

Exceptions:  

1) The use of a prepaid card is ONLY accepted for online prepayment, as we do NOT accept prepaid cards as a guarantee. The following conditions apply: The prepaid card MUST be in the name of the renter; The prepaid card MUST be presented also at the time of pickup of the car, just for verification that it is in the name of the renter; At the time of pickup of the car, the renter MUST present a valid debit or credit card in his/her own name as a guarantee. Prepaid / Electron / electronic use only / rechargeable / virtual / Maestro / revolving / Solo / Switch cards are NOT accepted as guarantee.

2) Business rentals. Companies can book and prepay online rentals for their employees. The online booking must always be made under the renter's name (i.e. the employee), using the company's debit or credit card for online payment. However, the renter must still present as guarantee, upon collection of the vehicle, his/her own personal debit or credit card (not the company's one). The renter must also present a badge or a note from the company, stating that he/she is employed by the company that is pre-paying for the rental. If the renter does not have a personal debit or credit card, it will not be possible to collect the vehicle.

3) Travel Agents/Tour Operators. Travel Agents can book and prepay rentals for their clients, using the travel agency credit / debit card for online prepayment. The travel agent must ensure that their IATA/TACO/ABTA number is included in the booking and the booking must be made under the renter's name. However, the renter must present as guarantee, upon collection of the vehicle, his/her own personal debit or credit card. If the renter does not have a personal debit or credit card, it will not be possible to collect the vehicle.
